Birds of prey need specialized care. For their best chance of survival, take them immediately to your nearest vet or wildlife rehabilitation centre. Do not attempt to care for them yourself, as improper handling can harm both you and the bird.

If we can’t answer your call, please leave a WhatsApp message with your name, a pin location, and a photo of the bird. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Mark Robson

Operations Director

Mark Robson has been actively involved in the rehabilitation and care of birds of prey at the Heath for over a decade. He gained his experience whilst working with his brother at Radical Raptors. He is no stranger to the great outdoors and has a background in forestry as well as extensive experience in the hospitality industry. The passion with which he conducts his guided tours reflects his love and dedication toward the birds in his care.

Laura Fotheringham

Managing Director

Laura is an experienced wildlife rehabilitator with hands-on experience in the care and release of birds of prey. Beyond rehabilitation, she leads the development of the centre’s educational programs, designing interactive learning experiences, educational material, and conservation-focused initiatives for schools, visitors, and community outreach. She also contributes to the creation of nature-inspired products for the centre’s shop.

Collien Mokoena

Assistant General manager

Collien ensures the smooth running of daily operations at the centre, overseeing staff and volunteer schedules, cleaning, and daily veterinary and resident bird reports. She also manages the gift and souvenir shop, coordinating sales and supporting visitors, linking operational excellence with the centre’s mission of wildlife care and education.

Mark Brown

Conservation Director

Dr Mark Brown is a ornithologist with a keen interest in raptors. He offers a wealth of expertise to our team with his vast birding knowledge and experience. Mark is registered with SAFRING and helps to ensure that all the birds that we have treated are ringed pre-release. Mark also heads the team at Conserve Eden, a non profit which provides valuable hands-on field experience for students that are passionate about conservation.
