ALL ABOUT ANIMALS

Join our 5-day Raptor Rangers All about animals holiday club, where children explore the wonders of wildlife through fun, hands-on learning. From creepy crawlies to birds and mammals, they’ll discover different animal groups, the habitats they live in, and the important roles they play in ecosystems and food chains. This engaging outdoor experience builds a deeper understanding of wildlife and the importance of conserving animals and their natural habitats.

JUNIOR FIELD GUIDE TRAINING

A 5-day Junior Field Guide Training Course for young nature enthusiasts. Through hands-on activities, learners develop skills in animal identification, tracking, predator-prey behaviour, and basic wildlife rescue, building confidence, practical knowledge, and a deeper appreciation for nature and the importance of protecting it. This engaging outdoor experience sparks curiosity, nurtures a love for the natural world, and inspires the next generation of conservation heroes. ( Ages 8 -15 years)

A QUICK LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES

An introduction to raptor conservation, education, and ethical wildlife tourism. This overview highlights the importance of supporting ethical facilities and provides a brief insight into wildlife rehabilitation best practices. Visitors will learn about the key threats facing birds of prey and explore practical ways to reduce human–wildlife conflict both at home and in wider communities. Included is our educational guided tour and flying demonstration, and the opportunity to meet some of our resident birds of prey up close.

BASIC RAPTOR RESCUE & REHABILITTION

A Basic Bird of Prey Rescue and First Aid Course designed to equip participants with practical wildlife response skills. The course introduces key principles of wildlife rehabilitation, including effective public engagement and mitigation, safe capture, handling and transport techniques, stabilisation methods, species-specific care, and post-release monitoring. Suitable for beginners, it provides a solid foundation for anyone interested in supporting or working within wildlife conservation.

2 WEEK VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Are you passionate about wildlife conservation, environmental education, and making a meaningful impact? Do you want to deepen your understanding of wildlife rehabilitation and gain real behind-the-scenes experience? We invite you to join our action-packed two-week volunteer programme. You’ll be fully immersed in our day-to-day operations while also having the opportunity to explore everything that Plettenberg Bay and the greater Garden Route has to offer.

THE CENTRE WILL BE CLOSED TO VISITORS ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

During these periods, essential animal care, rehabilitation and maintenance continue behind the scenes, ensuring the centre operates responsibly and sustainably all year round.
